My cat, Harrison, may drive me crazy sometimes, but I love him and I want what’s best for him.

So when I was offered the opportunity to test out the Catit Senses 2.0 Digger feeder and the Catit Flower Water Fountain, I jumped at it.

After a week, here’s what I’ve learned about these products.

Catit Senses 2.0 Digger review
The Catit Senses 2.0 Digger engages cats mentally and makes them work a little more for their food.

The Digger

The Digger feeder is designed to make your cat work a little for their food — great for cats who tend to inhale their meals.

Simply pour the dry food into the little cups, and it’s ready for your cat’s attention.

It’s sturdy, easily washable and almost impossible for greedy or clever cats to tip over. The Digger has plenty of room for food, making it ideal for a multi-cat household. The Digger is also good for overweight cats who may need a little bit of a challenge to get to their meals.

Another bonus for this feeder is that it prevents larger dogs from inhaling the cat’s food. They just can’t fit those snouts in the cups, so this is great for a multi-pet household as well.

With that said, Harrison didn’t care much for it. To be fair, he’s 15 years old and has been eating from a bowl all his life, so the transition was puzzling for him.

Although Harrison wasn’t charmed by the Digger, it was effective in engaging him mentally and making him work a little for his food. I think it would be perfect for a cat who is bored, needs more mental exercise, or is overweight and needs to eat slower.

The Digger is larger than the average pet bowl, so you will have to accommodate that in your feeding area.

When it comes to cleaning, it takes about 5 minutes, tops. The container, cups and floor mat can all be easily washed in warm, soapy water. Everything is also dishwasher safe.

catit flower fountain review
The Catit Flower Fountain runs very quietly and keeps drinking water clean at all times.

The Flower Fountain

The Flower Fountain is designed to provide your cat with running or flowing water.

Harrison has long hair. And like most cats, he also loves running water, which means he loves getting into my bathtub to drink from the dripping faucet. But long black cat hair does not look pretty in my shower drain.

Since I set up the Flower Fountain, though, he has completely ignored the bathtub. No more wet cat hair in my shower drains!

The fountain is made of a sturdy, hard plastic. Once filled, it’s heavy enough that it would be almost impossible for your cat to tip it over.

You can remove the flower in the center to provide standing water versus spouting water.

It’s easy to clean, too — which is important because standard water bowls tend to get that slime on them. The small water pump detaches, and you can toss the fountain and its flower into the sink and wash them with warm, soapy water.

The fountain must be plugged in, so it will need to be located near an outlet. But the unit is small enough that you can tuck it into a corner, set it on a table or place it in almost any out-of-the-way place.

It runs very quietly, so there are no loud or strange noises to frighten your cat (or annoy you). Best of all, it has an easily replaceable water filter, so the water stays clean at all times.

High-Quality Design

Both these products have received some of the industry’s highest customer ratings, and after using them I can understand why.

The principles behind the design are sound: The products cater to cats by addressing cats’ natural instincts. The Digger allows controlled feeding but also a bit of fun, and the Flower Fountain addresses a cat’s desire for clean, running water.

Clearly the Catit designers have cats of their own, love their cats and really understand their needs.

I examined both items closely before putting them out for Harrison. They are made of durable plastic and are aesthetically pleasing. In other words, you won’t feel like you need to shove these things in a closet if you have guests over!

They’re easy to set up and maintain (both are dishwasher safe), and the Digger has a fitted mat to prevent any loose food from bouncing across the floor.

For me, both of these products are a win.
